While recorded in the high desert town of Ramona, CA like their previous two releases, Already Mourning is a bit of an evolution for Pacific Theater. Building on the energetic tone of their initial two releases by slowing things down a bit and spacing things out.

Adding an organ to the instrumentation, and giving more room to the guitars to sparkle, illuminates what otherwise is a fairly grim story of unrequited attention, attraction, and frustration. The verse grow in desperation, an echoing pre-chorus seems to provide a glimpse of restraint, before the chorus melody – doubled with guitar and voice –
crescendos and beats into the listener the single minded need he speaks to.
